Alabama football players showed their support for Keelon Russell and his family at his twin sister Kierston Russell’s funeral on Saturday.

The Crimson Tide’s head coach Kalen DeBoer joined the Russell family alongside Alabama’s quarterbacks coach Nick Sheridan and Tide personnel staff member, Josh Chapman at the funeral.

Alabama players, Ty Simpson, Parker Brailsford, Jackson Lloyd, Austin Mack, Ty Simpson, Isaiah Horton and Germie Bernard were also in attendance.

Alabama football’s offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb provided some insight into how Tide players are wrapping their arms around Russell at this time in a recent interview on Tide 100.9.

“We certainly talk about person greater than player and that is being challenged right now to make sure that those things are real within the program and the culture of the locker room,” Grubb said. “Everything I have seen in the support that he has had already, you can’t give enough support for a situation like that. Keelon is a very very strong young man. His ability to handle this has been humbling to see. The guys have been there at every turn.”
