Although the football team fell short of clinching a College Football Playoff bid, starting quarterback Jalen Milroe is still being nationally recognized in a big way.

At the annual end-of-season team awards, QB Jalen Milroe was the recipient of many achievements voted by his own teammates, including bringing home the Offensive Player of the Year Award, Most Valuable Player Award, and even the Captains Award, in which Milroe was elected as a permanent captain.

Late Tuesday night, the Crimson Tide's dual-threat QB Jalen Milroe received national recognition as the 35th winner of the William V. Campbell Trophy, awarded annually to college football's best players for their academic excellence, on-field performance, and leadership.

"Having established himself as one of the premier college quarterbacks in the nation, Jalen Milroe's commitment to excellence has also extended to the classroom where he has excelled at the highest levels," said NFF Chairman Archie Manning. Manning's two sons, Peyton and Eli, each won the William V. Campbell during the 1997 and 2003 college football seasons, respectively.

Not only does Milroe get to bring home the hardware, but by winning the award, he is also given $25,000 dollars which will go towards a post-graduate scholarship.

In what is expected to be a weaker-than-usual 2025 NFL Draft class for quarterbacks, Jalen Milroe's chances of playing at the professional level remain strong. During his standout 2024 season, Milroe completed nearly 66% of his passes for 2,652 yards and 15 touchdowns. As a runner, he was even more dangerous, rushing for 719 yards and an impressive 20 touchdowns.
