Deion Sanders Shares Concerning Update After Colorado Star's Injury Against Georgia Tech

For the first time under Deion Sanders, the Colorado Buffaloes started the season with a loss.

In a clash with the ACC's Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, the Buffs lost the tightly contested game by a score of 27-20. With so many new faces on offense as Sanders fielded four new offensive linemen, a new quarterback and a new wide receiver corps, it was evident that Colorado is still ironing out the kinks.

Unfortunately for them, there's a chance that they will be without one of the more proven returning players on the team in wide receiver Omarion Miller. As revealed by Sanders when he spoke to the media on Tuesday, Miller has a nagging hamstring issue that has prevented him from practicing, which he suffered during the loss.

"He's still out," Sanders said. "Not practicing. Hasn't done anything since the game. But you gotta understand, he's a phenomenal receiver, but we have some phenomenal receivers on this roster. We just gotta give them opportunities to expose themselves."

Miller had just one catch for 39 yards in the loss to Georgia Tech, and unfortunately during his time in Boulder has been plagued by injury.

The former four-star recruit out of Louisiana registered a stat in just two games last season before suffering a season-ending leg injury in the team's October 12 loss to Kansas State. Despite his limited action, he still had 10 catches for 216 yards and a touchdown. However, it was performance in 2023 against USC that really put him on the map.

Miller racked up seven catches for 196 yards and a touchdown before seeing his role diminish down the stretch.

With Colorado taking on new FBS program Delaware on Saturday, there isn't necessarily a reason to rush Miller back, but it certainly hurts that he won't be able to continue to build a rapport with quarterback Kaidon Salter.
