Domani Jackson admits play was not up to Alabama standard in 2025

It wasn’t quite the magical senior season for Domani Jackson last year.

After transferring to Alabama from USC, Jackson was an immediate impact player under defensive coordinator Kane Wommack. So when he opted to return for his senior season, Jackson was expected to be the leader in the secondary.

But Jackson’s play was rather inconsistent throughout the year, eventually to the point where he was rotating out of games in favor of true freshman Dijon Lee. Not playing up to the Alabama standard was something Jackson was fully aware and shared when speaking at the 2026 NFL Combine.

“I wasn’t living up to that standard. Alabama holds you to a standard,” Jackson said per Bama Central. “If you’re not living up to it, you will get replaced. I mean, it’s a room full of talent.”

Jackson recorded just one pass deflection and no interceptions during the 2025 season with Alabama. In order to try and help break out of his funk, Jackson consulted former Alabama defensive back and current staffer Ha Ha Clinton-Dix.

“This past year with Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, he just pulled me aside,” Jackson said. “It was just watching film, and he was just saying, just be that same person, man.”

As Jackson heads into the NFL Combine he is currently viewed as a day two or three pick.
