Recruiting for the Florida Gators and head coach Billy Napier hasn't been the strongest for the 2026 class. They did secure a commitment from offensive lineman G'Nivre Carr over the weekend when they had a bevy of top recruits on official visits.
While they had many recruits on campus, it was the defensive backfield that saw a lot of the focus. The top recruit in the secondary visit campus was five-star safety Bralan Womack, who came away very impressed with Napier's program.

It's huge for the Gators to take this kind of step forward with an elite defender. It's especially great to see new defensive back coach Vinnie Sunseri make this kind of headway so early on in his tenure.
Womack is the top-ranked safety and 18th overall recruit in the On3 Sports Industry Ranking out of Brandon, Mississippi. He would both solidify and elevate the secondary for the Gators.
It's not a guarantee that Womack decides to commit to the Gators, as he's currently being courted heavily by Auburn, Ohio State, and Texas A&M. Right now, the Buckeyes are seen as the heavy favorites to land Womack, and have been for some time. Overcoming the Buckeyes is going to be a massive challenge for the Gators, but one they are working hard towards.
This was the third time that Womack had been on campus with the first time coming on February 1st. His second visit to Gainesville was also the first of his official visits, as he will be taking visits to Texas A&M (June 6th), Auburn (June 13th), and Ohio State (June 20th). A commitment for Womack is likely going to come by the end of the summer, leaving the Gators time after the Ohio State visit.
If Napier and Sunseri can land Womack, it'll go a long way toward building confidence in the staff moving forward.
