Former Cincinnati Bearcats Safety Derrick Canteen Signs NFL Contract With San Francisco 49ers

 The Bearcats' football team had another alum get one step closer to the NFL dream. Safety Derrick Canteen signed a three-year deal with the San Francisco 49ers to vie for a spot on the roster this summer.

The one-year Cincinnati player played very well on the backend of UC's defense and was a big reason for the improved 2024 secondary. 

He broke up six passes (one interception) while rounding things out with a 65.1 NFL passer rating allowed on 535 snaps with the Bearcats. The news moves Canteen past rookie minicamp, one step closer to the NFL roster dream.
