The winter transfer portal window is open, and college football players have the option to make decisions on where they will play in 2025.
One of the top transfer defenders in the country has reportedly chosen his next home. Junior linebacker Dasan McCullough is considered as the No. 3 transfer linebacker, according to 247Sports.
McCullough (6-foot-5, 235 pounds) began his career at Indiana after signing as the highest-rated recruit in program history. The Bloomington native was a consensus four-star recruit out of the 2022 class.
After recording four sacks and earning Freshman All-America and All-Big Ten honors in 2022, McCullough transferred to Oklahoma under head coach Brent Venables. He spent the last two seasons in Norman, totaling 47 tackles with seven tackles for loss in 17 games.
McCullough's output in 2024 was limited by a foot injury that kept him out of the first five games of the season. Even still, the talented pass rusher failed to record a single sack in the previous two seasons.
According to an announcement by McCullough on Sunday, the junior will transfer to Nebraska for the 2025 season.
Matt Rhule's Cornhuskers have added six transfers thus far in the 2025 cycle after finishing 12th in the Big Ten with a 6-6 record. Defense was the bright spot for the program this season, as Nebraska allowed a 17th-best 19.8 points per game.
However, the pass rush was underwhelming this season with 2.3 sacks per game, 44th in the nation. Considering the Cornhusker's aggressive defensive approach under coordinator Tony White, McCullough could be a featured piece in an effort to improve that aspect.
Nebraska will face Boston College (7-5) in the Bad Boy Mowers Pinstripe Bowl on Dec. 28. Kickoff from Yankee Stadium is slated for noon ET (ABC).
