Former Texas Football Player Takes Big Shot At Quinn Ewers

Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers has reportedly received a massive NIL offer from a college football program for next season.

Per On3's Pete Nakos, the talented Texas quarterback has received a $6 million NIL offer from another program. He'd have to enter the transfer portal and commit to that program to get the money.

After that report dropped, former Texas wide receiver Johntay Cook tweeted that he didn't think Ewers was worth that cash.

"Wasting y'all money fr (for real)," Cook tweeted.

Cook later deleted the tweet since he may have regretted putting that out there.

He spent two seasons with Ewers at Texas before transferring to Washington for the 2025 season this past weekend. He only compiled eight receptions for 137 yards and two touchdowns.

It came after he finished the 2023 season with eight receptions for 136 yards and no touchdowns. He's looking for more production and playing time with the Huskies next year.

As for Ewers, he's still likely heading to the NFL next year but things could get interesting if he accepts that $6 million NIL offer that is on the table.

Right now, his sole focus is on helping the Longhorns win this year's national title. They won their first-round College Football Playoff game against the Clemson Tigers and will try to advance to the semifinals when they play the Arizona State Sun Devils in the Peach Bowl on January 1.

Ewers has had another good season, throwing for 2,867 yards through the air, 26 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions.

Kickoff for Wednesday's game between the Longhorns and Sun Devils will be at 1 p.m. ET on ESPN. All four of the CFP quarterfinal games will take place over the next 48 hours.
