Great community note about Lee Corso circulates on X

Lee Corso crushed it with his picks during his final ESPN “College GameDay” appearance on Saturday, and there was a perfect Community Note to go along with his biggest upset prediction.

Corso went a perfect 6-of-6 with his final picks on “College GameDay,” and the 90-year-old took plenty of risks. One of the teams he picked to win was unranked Florida State as a roughly two-touchdown underdog against No. 8 Alabama.

Corso, who played cornerback at Florida State in the 1950s, said he had to go with his alma mater to pull off the outright win. The Seminoles wound up dominating Alabama 31-17.

Many people gave Florida State no chance to beat Alabama, and some even mocked Corso over the pick. One X user commented that Corso was “ending his professional career with probably the worst take of his career.” That post later received a Community Note that said “not so fast, my friend.”

In addition to his famous headgear picks, one of the things Corso became known for during his legendary “College GameDay” run was yelling “not so fast, my friend!” when disagreeing with one of his colleague’s takes or picks. That is why the Community Note was so perfect.

Some people were smart enough to ride all of Corso’s picks for his final “GameDay” appearance. It was only fitting for Lee to sweep the board on his way out the door, especially with the huge call on Florida State.
