Indiana Depth Chart vs Notre Dame

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish (11-1) and the Indiana Hoosiers (11-1) will kick off the 2024 College Football Playoff with an in-state battle. Notre Dame is arguably the hottest team in college football while the Hoosiers were the nation's biggest surprise. Notre Dame was expected to be here after beginning the season ranked in the Top 10. Indiana was picked by the league media to finish 17th in the league, but the Hoosiers had other plans.

Indiana hasn't released a two-deep for this matchup, but Irish Breakdown has created a two-deep based on game film and snap allocation.

INDIANA OFFENSE

*** Tyler Stephens has started three games at left guard in place of Drew Evans, who was lost for the season after suffering an Achilles injury in practice after nine games.

*** Eight of Indiana's 11 starters are transfers, and seven of those transfers are in their first year with the program. Three of those starters, and key backup running back Ty Son Lawton are transfers from James Madison.

*** Quarterback Kurtis Rourke was a second team All Big Ten performer. Wide receiver Elijah Sarratt earned third-team All Big Ten honors. Running back Justice Ellison, tight end Zach Horton, center Mike Katic and left tackle Carter Smith were honorable mention All Big Ten performers.

INDIANA DEFENSE

*** Cornerback Jamier Johnson missed Indiana's win over Purdue with an injury. It has not been reported if he'll return for this game. Jamari Sharpe started in his place against the Boilermakers. Backup cornerback JoJo Johnson began his career at Notre Dame.

*** Johnson is the only Indiana defensive starter to miss a game all season. 

*** Defensive end Mikail Kamara , linebacker Aiden Fisher and cornerback D'Angelo Ponds were all named to the All Big Ten first team. Nose tackle CJ West , defensive tackle James Carpenter and linebacker Jailin Walker earned honorable mention All Big Ten honors.
