The Florida Gators have been working hard on the recruiting trail, with head coach Billy Napier putting a heavy emphasis on the trenches. Three-star defensive tackle Jamir Perez committed earlier this week, and they know when they will hear from another high-profile target.
Elite four-star running back Ezavier Crowell has set a commitment date for June 26th, and he will be deciding between Florida, Georgia, Auburn, Texas, Alabama, and Florida State.

Over the last 25 years, the Gators have seen their fair share of uber talented running backs come through Gainesville. During Napier's tenure in Gainesville, they have had some very talented backs, including Montrell Johnson Jr., Trevor Etienne, and sophomore Jadan Baugh.
A very talented running back out of Jackson, Alabama, Crowell is the 23rd-ranked recruit in the nation and the second-ranked player out of Alabama. He was dominant as a sophomore, rushing for 1,964 yards and a whopping 31 touchdowns, while also catching nine passes for 258 yards and another two touchdowns. Crowell reclassified from 2027 to 2026.
Adding Crowell to the running back room would be huge for the Gators. There is real talent in the room with Baugh leading the way. However, Ja'Kobi Jackson is set to run out of eligibility and redshirt sophomore Treyaun Webb has yet to stay healthy and consistent.
The Gators aren't in the strongest spot to land Crowell, however. They have hosted him on just one unofficial visit, while Alabama (9) and Auburn (5) have been the frontrunners to land him.
Right now, Napier hasn't been able to get him to commit to an official visit. There is still time, but it'll likely have to be during the week, as his weekends are full until his commitment date.
