Louisville at Miami odds: Opening point spread revealed

Both coming out of a bye week, Louisville and Miami will square off at Hard Rock Stadium in Week 8. Ahead of the matchup, the opening point spread has been released.

The Hurricanes opened as 13.5-point favorites against the Cardinals, according to BetMGM. The over-under also opened at 53.5 points.

Miami is looking to stay undefeated on the season while Louisville will try to make some noise in the ACC. It’s also getting the Friday night primetime treatment on ESPN.

Both Louisville and Miami are coming off byes in Week 7. That gave each team a chance to reset ahead of their high-profile matchup.

The Hurricanes are coming off a huge win over in-state rival Florida State last time out. The Hurricanes took control early, but the Seminoles mounted a late charge, led by quarterback Tommy Castellanos. However, it wasn’t enough to complete a comeback, and Miami came away with the 28-22 victory at Doak Campbell Stadium. Carson Beck threw for four touchdowns to lead the charge.

Louisville, meanwhile, went back-and-forth with Virginia before forcing overtime. The Cardinals struck first with a field goal in the extra period, but the Cavaliers responded with the game-winning touchdown to get the 30-27 victory. That dropped Louisville to 4-1 after rattling off four straight wins to start the year.

Now, the stage is set for a matchup at Hard Rock Stadium between Louisville and Miami. With the ACC race getting interesting, there’s sure to be plenty at stake for both teams.
