The recruiting hot stove is on full blast as June has arrived. The top 2025 recruits are making official visits throughout the month before fall arrives. One major 5-star prospect in the limelight right now is cornerback/safety DJ Pickett.
Pickett visited LSU on Friday and saw Tigers legend Patrick Peterson welcome him to his potential new home.
LSU held more than 10 2025 recruits this weekend, including two 5-star cornerbacks. It only made sense to bring in one of the most recognizable and prominent cornerbacks from the program's history to help sell the allure of LSU. Plus, Peterson's NFL success makes him an even better salesman.
The big potential catch of the weekend is DJ Pickett. Ranked highly as both a corner and safety prospect, the Tampa, Florida product has been quite vocal lately. He's talked about how Oregon and Miami are among his top choices and how Georgia is basically the new Alabama.
The 6-foot-4 defender has a busy slate of visits coming. While LSU brought out Peterson, who is someone Pickett's family reportedly "knows well", upcoming visits to Georgia, Miami, and Oregon loom large.

The speedy and lanky defender is unlikely to play huge snaps as a freshman, regardless of where he goes. He's rail thin at 180 pounds. His upside is tremendous and will be especially good if he goes to Georgia or Oregon's Cover 1 and Cover 3 vertical schemes.
Where will Pickett land? We'll continue to monitor the latest news and tea leaves as this Junes unfolds.
