LSU WR Kayshon Boutte out with season-ending leg injury

Things are quickly going from bad to worse for the LSU Tigers.

Per Alex Scarborough of ESPN, LSU wide receiver Kayshon Boutte has been lost for the remainder of the season because of the leg injury he suffered in Saturday's 42-21 loss to the Kentucky Wildcats that dropped the Tigers to 3-3 on the year. Boutte, a sophomore, had eight receptions for 73 yards against Kentucky before he went down.

According to ESPN stats, Boutte ends his campaign leading LSU with 38 catches for 509 yards and nine touchdowns. Those nine scores have him tied for the most in the country this fall.

Boutte accumulated 45 receptions for 735 yards and five touchdowns in 2020. Currently, freshman Jack Bech is second on the Tigers with 22 catches for 272 yards and a score.

LSU is already without All-American cornerback and potential top-five NFL Draft pick Derek Stingley Jr., who recently had a medical procedure performed on his left foot and who may not play again this season.

The Tigers face the 4-2 Florida Gators this coming Saturday.
