Michigan got by New Mexico without any drama, and it gave it a try against Oklahoma, but was never really a threat in the 24-13 loss.
Freshman quarterback Bryce Underwood is a keeper, but there hasn’t been a whole lot of wow to the team overall.
It’s not looking anywhere near like a potential player in the Big Ten race, and this week, it’ll look different on the sideline with head coach Sherrone Moore serving the first of a two-game suspension.
First-year head coach Matt Drinkall pulled off a slight stunner at San Jose State, his team was outclassed at Pitt, and next week it gets a break against Wagner. But first, his Chippewas have to make Michigan keep trying.

Michigan’s defense has been fine, but it’s hardly been the brick wall it was over the last several years. It’s been great against the run, but the pass D has been a tad leaky.
Central Michigan hasn’t shown a ton of firepower, but the ground attack was great against San Jose State and needs to at least give it a shot early on. There haven’t been a slew of mistakes, the offense has been great at controlling the clock, and …
Central Michigan isn’t doing much of anything to get behind the line. The pass rush didn’t show up against Pitt last week, the tackles for loss aren’t there, and Bryce Underwood should get all the time he needs.

The Michigan offense is still a work in progress. Underwood was fine against New Mexico, but completing passes against Oklahoma was like pulling teeth.
This should be a balanced day from the Wolverine attack, but it’s more about efficiency and effectiveness than explosion. The Chippewas won’t be able to respond after a decent few early drives.
Just the fourth meeting between the two, Michigan is 3-0 by a total score of 145-33. It won’t be that bad, but there won’t be any drama.
