Positive news has flowed from inside the Ohio State Buckeyes football program and the recruits who were on campus this past weekend for a massive visit. The Buckeyes are at least in the mix for elite linebacker Xavier Griffin, and they're especially holding their breath to land five-star tackle Felix Ojo.
Ojo, hailing from Mansfield, Texas, is one of the three top left tackle prospects in a terrific 2026 class. The 6-foot-7, 275-pounder is heavily favored to stay in state and attend Texas, but the Buckeyes made big progress this past weekend.
It's hard to get over how promising this quote is from Ojo.
“The family atmosphere and how the program is deeply centered in faith. Also the offensive scheme fits and resembles my play style a lot. Overall it was a great visit.”
Five-Star OT Felix Ojo says Ohio State stands really high with he & his family

This is one of those situations where Ojo would be excellent in multiple landing spots, and he would fit at Ohio State if he opted for Ryan Day's Buckeyes.
However, here's the latest intel from Alex Gleitman of Letterman Row.
I came into this visit thinking that Felix Ojo really liked Ohio State, but it wouldn’t be enough to keep him from staying home with Texas. I am coming out of this visit, feeling the same.
Ojo had a great visit, and sources inside the WHAC agreed on that. There’s no doubt his love for the program is real and that the Buckeyes are legitimately in contention to land him. That said, it just continues to feel like a bit of an uphill battle to keep him away from Austin.
I do like what Ohio State did this weekend in having fellow Texas-native Riley Pettijohn, who picked the Bucks over the Longhorns last year, spend a lot of time with Ojo. I think Tyler Bowen and Ryan Day are saying/doing all the right things. I’m just a bit skeptical that it actually leads to OSU beating out UT here.
It's an uphill battle trying to pry a top player from the grasp of a program he's loved forever and had multiple years of relationship-building with. We'll see if his 'real love' for the Buckeyes is enough for him to take a big swing and leave Texas.
