Report: Oklahoma Defensive Lineman to Enter Transfer Portal
SARAH PHIPPS / THE OKLAHOMAN-USA TODAY NETWORK

An Oklahoma defensive lineman is reportedly looking for a change of scenery.

Kelvin Gilliam Jr., a former 4-star recruit as rated by 247Sports and Rivals, will enter the transfer portal per On3.

In three years at Oklahoma, Gilliam recorded 10 total tackles and 0.5 tackles for loss.

The 6-foot-3, 295-pound defensive lineman signed with the Sooners in the 2021 class, but could never make a climb up the depth chart.

A redshirt sophomore in 2023, Gilliam will have a two years of eligibilty remaining at his next destination.

Gilliam is the 12th Sooner to enter the transfer portal since the window to change schools opened on Dec. 4, and is the third defensive lineman to enter the portal alongside Reggie Grimes and Marcus Hicks.

Oklahoma has landed one player out of the portal in veteran Michigan State offensive tackle Spencer Brown, but most of OU’s work adding to its roster still lies ahead this offseason.
