While SEC coaches pushed for league ban on spring transfers but there could be interesting situation next year.

Newcomers Texas and Oklahoma might even find some folks on Arkansas' roster appealing and give them a chance to stay in the league where none of others can go.

The Razorbacks lost Jalen Catalon to the Longhorns and Mike Woods to the Sooners in recent memory so don't say it can't happen.

Yeah, it can and exactly what can SEC commissioner Greg Sankey do about until the move of them to the league is official July 1, 2024.

Considering it's really not an issue yet there's nothing to plan and if there's something in the agreement to keep it from happening, well, chalk that up to a lack of transparency in the whole deal. Technically, that's fine. There's absolutely no regulation that says the SEC has to be completely open with stuff, but it could make some rivalries more intense with these new guys.

Trust me, there are already some folks that don't like either one. Historically, that would be even higher for Texas if their all-time record with the Hogs was in there. Throwing that in there just complicates things. The Longhorns have won 70.5% of the time (here's the opening for Hog fans to point out they have won four of the last six since the Razorbacks bailed out of the old Southwest Conference for the SEC's money).

Oklahoma has won 59.3% of the time against the SEC. Nobody is predicting either one is going to come marching into the league and dominate everybody, but they could add some pretty good depth with very recent SEC experience.

Cherry-picking some quality players from other teams in the spring could benefit both. Notice I said "both" because there's no evidence either one has thought about that. That's more than a little doubtful because they have enough people running around the football offices doing nothing but thinking about stuff (they hope) nobody else thought about.

In this league that's called just taking advantage of whatever the rules are. We've learned with all the massive changes in recent years if nothing else the coaches may not like the changes, but that isn't exactly going to stop a lot of them from using them to win a game here or there.

Go ahead and point out that's just one side of the argument. The Hogs might actually have somebody from Austin or Normal wanting to come here. Just another one of this little hypotheticals to throw out there.
