UNLV’s quarterback Anthony Colandrea and defensive back Aamaris Brown have each been recognized as the Mountain West’s top performers this week:
Offensive Player of the Week – Anthony Colandrea: The junior QB transferred from Virginia and delivered a standout performance. Completing 19 of 23 passes for 249 yards, two passing touchdowns, and another rushing score in UNLV’s 38–21 win over Sam Houston. He posted a sharp 83% completion rate and achieved a 193.5 passing efficiency, helping to ignite UNLV’s offense with a fast start and a clutch late-game scoring drive.
It’s worth noting that this marks the first time in nine seasons UNLV has swept both the Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors in the same week. A rare feat last accomplished in 2016 following a three-overtime thriller against Wyoming.
