On Tuesday, Kyle Whittingham and the Utah Utes added a new name in the Class of 2026, with the commitment of three-star running back LaMarcus Bell.
Bell, a 5-foot-11 running back from Lake Oswego, Oregon, chose the Utes over offers from 16 different programs, including BYU, Arizona, Washington State, and more.

“My relationship with coach [Mark] Atuaia (RBs), which began early in my recruitment when he was at Washington State, carried over when he moved on to Utah,” Bell said. “He’s always believed in me, and with the love the whole staff has shown me, that told me this was home.”
Coming out of Lake Oswego in the Class of 2026, Bell is listed as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 941st-ranked player. He also checks in as the 23rd-ranked player at his position and the second-ranked player in the state of Oregon.
With the commitment, Bell became the fifth player to commit to Utah in the Class of 2026, alongside three-star EDGE Preston Pitts, three-star quarterback Michael Johnson , three-star linebacker LeGary Mitchell, and three-star cornerback Major Hinchen.
