Vols starter drops cold-blooded quote while explaining an in-game decision that had Tennessee fans perplexed

Tennessee Vols redshirt sophomore running back DeSean Bishop had a terrific showing in UT's season-opening 45-26 win against the Syracuse Orange.

Bishop, who is from Knoxville, led the Volunteers with 126 total yards in the win against Syracuse (82 rushing yards and 44 receiving yards).

The former Karns standout did all of that damage while wearing no gloves, which is something you rarely see from running backs or wide receivers.

Bishop was asked on Tuesday about his decision to not wear gloves -- and he dropped one of the best quotes of the week in the process.

"That's one of the good reasons that I've been able to catch the way I am now," said Bishop. "I just started playing and practicing catching without gloves -- just to get that feel of the ball and have that grip I do on the ball. I kind of went into the game thinking, 'Should I wear gloves now?' But why switch it up now? If it's not broke, don't fix it.

"So that's kind of my mindset. Just going in there, like, I'm not here to look the best or to dress the best. I'm just here for straight business, you know. And that's what I feel like that represents out there."

You gotta love that mentality if you're a Vols fan -- straight business.

Tennessee is returning to its three-headed monster approach with Bishop, Peyton Lewis, and Star Thomas this season with Dylan Sampson moving on to the NFL.

That trio looked very dangerous against Syracuse on Saturday. It's clear that room feeds off each other, which is why the "straight business" quote from Bishop should have UT football fans fired up about Tennessee's running game this fall.
