Watch: James Skalski ejected for targeting, goes nuts
Stephen Lew-USA TODAY Sports

Clemson Tigers linebacker James Skalski was ejected during the third quarter of the National Championship Game on Monday for targeting.

LSU was up 28-25 and threw a first down pass over the middle to Justin Jefferson for a seven-yard gain. Skalski lowered his head and hit Jefferson with his head.

The booth initiated a review, and Skalski was called for a personal foul for targeting and ejected.

Skalski began hitting himself in the face after the ejection and was talked to on the sidelines by Dabo Swinney. Skalski had nine tackles and half a sack before leaving the game. LSU later scored to increase their lead on Skalski’s Tigers to 35-25.
