At home in Winston-Salem, the Wake Forest Demon Deacons defeated Kennesaw State, 10-9 to open the season with a win. The 'Deacs played the majority of the game without star Running Back Demond Claiborne, who left after the first series due to injury. Demon Deacons Quarterback Robby Ashford was 20-28 passing for 218 yards and carried the ball 18 times for 42 yards and a touchdown for Wake. ‘Deacs Defensive Back Nick Anderson led the defense with 9 tackles and 2 passes defensed in the win.
