Watch: 'NFL University' players go bonkers over top pick

Alabama players wildly celebrated the No. 1 overall selection by the Panthers of their former teammate, QB Bryce Young

Young became the first Crimson Tide player to be selected with the top pick in the NFL Draft. He is the second QB the Panthers have picked first overall, the first being Auburn's Cam Newton in 2011.

Alabama is no stranger to having players drafted in the NFL. In 2022, the Crimson Tide led the NFL with 58 active players, and NFL teams drafted 113 Alabama players from 2009-2022.

Young also became the third Alabama QB in four years to be drafted in the first round, following Tua Tagovailoa and Mac Jones.

Young's former teammates, OLB Will Anderson Jr. (Houston) and running back Jahmyr Gibbs (Detroit), were also drafted in the first round Thursday night.

In recognition of Alabama's massive NFL presence, former Crimson Tide defensive lineman Quinnen Williams, a star with the Jets, anointed his school NFL University.
