Zach Wilson's brother, QB Isaac Wilson, spurns BYU in favor of rival Utah

New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson has had a strange offseason.

First, Aaron Rodgers took his job as the bonafide starter and savior of the Jets. Now, Wilson's brother, four-star quarterback Isaac Wilson, has committed to the Utah Utes.

Zach played at Utah's arch rival, BYU, and the Cougars were amongst the finalists for Isaac's commitment. The Utes beat out BYU, Arizona, Arizona State, Oklahoma State and UCLA in this recruiting war.

"I've been a Utah fan since I could remember and then we made that flip with Zach, who did his thing," Wilson told 247Sports, "but now I'm excited to do my thing, go back to our roots and go back to where my dad played. I couldn't be more excited to be committed to Utah."

Zach and Isaac's father, Mike Wilson, played at Utah in 1993 and 1994.

"We’ve felt really comfortable with coach Kyle Whittingham and the stability he has created within the program," Mike Wilson told 247Sports. "Coach Andy Ludwig is one of the top offensive coordinators in the country and consistently puts his quarterbacks in a position to succeed. It’s just a really great situation and the coaches always made sure Isaac knew he was a top priority for the program in this cycle, so that meant a lot, too."

To the elder Wilson's point, Utah put up 38.6 points per game last season.

In Isaac Wilson, the Utes are getting a recruit with a ton of hype. According to 247Sports, he's the No. 14 ranked quarterback in the 2024 class.
