Wisconsin transfer lineman set to start at left tackle after growing up a Badgers fan

The best decisions are often the ones you don't have to think about. That seems to be the case for Central Michigan offensive tackle Davis Heinzen, who transferred to the Badgers in the spring after left tackle Kevin Heywood suffered a season-ending injury.

The Wisconsin Badgers are still figuring out their plan to replace injured left tackle Kevin Haywood, who tore his ACL during spring practice. Offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes made it sound like the staff knows their preferred option, but the job will still have to be earned.

Wide receiver continues to be a position of need for Wisconsin in the transfer portal. The Wisconsin Badgers have made a few splashes in the transfer portal thus far, landing a starting offensive tackle with Central Michigan’s Davis Heinzen and a top tight end with Missouri State’s Lance Mason.
