Ohio State head coach Ryan Day admitted he was concerned about the lack of experience true freshman cornerback Jyaire Brown and redshirt freshman Jakailin Johnson had coming into Saturday’s 52-21 win over Wisconsin.
Jakailin Johnson became an official member of the Ohio State football team on Wednesday when he had his black stripe removed. Johnson was the No. 3 rated cornerback in the country in the 2021 recruiting class and a top 50 player overall.
Cornerback Jakailin Johnson became the 18th member of Ohio State’s 2021 recruiting class to have his black stripe removed, doing so following practice at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center on Wednesday evening.
Ohio State already has one player from St. Louis De Smet Jesuit on its roster in freshman cornerback Jakailin Johnson and now finds itself in position to land another Spartan after four-star tight end Mac Markway included the Buckeyes in his top seven over the weekend.
