Chennai Super Kings’ cryptic Wednesday post went viral on social media. In a clip featuring their mascot Leo, the five-time champions seem to have given a hint about their targets at the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 auction.

CSK pointed out their three priorities ahead of the new season. There was no hint of going after Cameron Green’s name, which surprised many. The clip showed Leo buying three items. The ardent supporters soon started decoding the mystery.

Apples: The fruit has a connection with Jammu & Kashmir. The fans related it to Auqib Nabi, a young bowler who took four wickets in four balls in the Duleep Trophy.

Kiwi Fruit: It hinted towards the signing of a player from New Zealand. Rachin Ravindra and Devon Conway, the two Kiwi stars, were released by the franchise.

Local Mixture Snack Packet: The champion team is looking forward to bringing a player from Tamil Nadu. Fans linked it to Venkatesh Iyer, whose family has roots in Tamil Nadu. The southpaw was released by the Knight Riders after an ordinary performance in IPL 2025.

Cameron Green, the Aussie all-rounder, is going to be the biggest star in the auction. Several franchises will go after his name, considering his performances in the batting and bowling departments. While it is tough to predict the actual outcome of the auction, Chennai will be looking to add big names to challenge the rival teams in IPL 2026. They finished last in the previous season.
