Delhi Capitals have signed England's spinner Rehan Ahmed for the remaining matches of the Indian Premier League 2026, adding him to the squad as a replacement for English opener Ben Duckett. Rehan. Ahmed, who hasn't been a part of the tournament before, will join DC for INR 75 lakh.

The Capitals bought Duckett in the mini-auction, but the southpaw opted out of the 19th season just before the start of the competition to focus on his England career after a below-par Ashes against Australia. Delhi didn't seek a replacement immediately as Pathum Nissanka was given the opener's role alongside KL Rahul in IPL 2026.

The 21-year-old, whose primarily role is to take wickets, has worked on his batting and featured in the top order for  Leicestershire as they won Division Two of the 2025 County Championship to make it to Division One. Rehan amassed  760 runs at an average of 50.66, smashing five centuries and picking up 23 wickets at an average of 19.

In the ENG vs NZ match at the ICC 20 World Cup 2026, he accumulated 7-ball 19 to help England seal a win, following which he participated in the first two rounds of the ongoing County Championship season.

Delhi Capitals, who recently lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad, will host Punjab Kings in Delhi on April 25. Delhi are fifth in the standings, having won three and lost as many in the ongoing season.
