Mohammed Siraj has been outstanding with the ball in Tests this year. Following his performance as the leading wicket-taker in the 2025 Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy with 23 wickets, he has already claimed 10 more in the ongoing two-match series against the West Indies. The 31-year-old now has 37 wickets in the calendar year, marking his highest tally in Tests within a single year.
Centuries from Shai Hope and John Campbell helped the West Indies avoid an innings defeat against India in the second Test. Campbell scored 115 runs off 199 balls, hitting three sixes and 12 boundaries. The pair put together a crucial 177-run partnership for the third wicket, stabilizing the visitors’ innings.
At the time of writing, the West Indies were 277/4 in their second innings, with skipper Roston Chase and wicketkeeper-batter Tevin Imlach at the crease. The tourists held a narrow lead of seven runs as they tried to build a resistance.
In the first innings, the visitors had been bowled out for 248, with India’s Kuldeep Yadav taking a five-wicket haul and Ravindra Jadeja claiming three scalps. Batting first, India declared at 518/5, with Yashasvi Jaiswal top-scoring with 175 and Shubman Gill remaining unbeaten on 129.
Jomel Warrican was the main wicket-taker for the West Indies with three wickets. India had dominated the opening Test, winning by an innings and 140 runs. A series victory in Delhi would help the hosts climb higher in the World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 points table.
