Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), the defending champions, have a chance to do what only Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians have done before. The Bengaluru-based side has the chance to become the third side to defend their crown successfully. Rajat Patidar and his side have played outstanding cricket so far this season. Their dominant 92-run win in the first qualifier is proof that the team is dominant with both the bat and ball in equal measure.
Gujarat Titans (GT) were beaten soundly by RCB in the first qualifier by a massive margin in Dharamsala. This was followed by the 7-wicket win over Rajasthan Royals in the second qualifier to make it to the finals. Shubman Gill and his side have shown tremendous character when needed and come up with great performances. Apart from the batting, the bowling of Kagiso Rabada, Mohammed Siraj, and Prasidh Krishna has held the team in good stead.
Match: Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Gujarat Titans, Final
Date and Time: 31st May, 7.30 PM
Venue – Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad
Broadcast and Match: Star Sports network channels and JioHotstar App and Website
Going by the last few games seen at this venue, the captain winning the toss could elect to bat first. Chasing has been tough in the second half as the bowlers get a lot of purchase off the wicket. Pace bowlers get a lot of help off the track when the ball is new, and the spinners come into the game when the track tends to slow down, and there is some grip. Batting first, the teams get to use a fresh pitch, and the electric fast outfield also helps the batters.

Best batter – Virat Kohli
Indian batting star Virat Kohli will be the key with the bat for RCB when they play their second final in two years. Kohli has put up yet another strong performance with the bat this season and batted with a lot of aggression during the first playoff game in Dharamsala. The pitch will be helpful towards the early part of the game for stroke players when the ball is new, which could give Virat the license to go after the bowlers.
Best bowler – Kagiso Rabada
IPL 2026 has seen the South African pacer return to his best with the ball. Rabada has troubled every batter that he has bowled to and made run-scoring difficult. The 31-year-old will have distinct memories of the last game where he was taken to the cleaners. With this being the final of the tournament, the South African will want to give it his all and win the title for his side with his hostile pace bowling.
This season, both sides have met each other thrice, and RCB have won two of those encounters. The two teams cannot be separated in terms of skill sets or talents, or for the sheer star names they possess. Royal Challengers Bengaluru, though, start as slight favourites due to their dominant display not just in the first playoff vs GT but also for their form during the entire season.
