Luke Humphries joins Michael van Gerwen's in elite Euro Tour club after Czech Darts Open win
Jonas Hunold/PDC Europe

Luke Humphries secured his first Euro Tour title of 2025 on Sunday night by defeating Josh Rock 8-5 in the final of the Czech Darts Open 2025. This puts him in a two-man tie with none other than Michael van Gerwen.

Only Humphries and Van Gerwen have won at least one Euro Tour tournament each of the past four years. 'Cool Hand Luke' thus took the title in Prague last weekend, while Van Gerwen won the German Darts Grand Prix earlier this year by beating compatriot Gian van Veen in the final.

2022 was Humphries' best year on the European Tour. The current world No. 1 managed to take no less than four titles that year with the German Darts Grand Prix, the Czech Darts Open, the European Darts Grand Prix and the European Darts Matchplay. In 2023, with a win at the European Darts Matchplay, it remained just one title, and a year later he managed to capture two titles with the German Darts Grand Prix and the Czech Darts Open. So with his third final victory in Prague this weekend, he now joins Michael van Gerwen.

Mighty Mike managed to win three Euro Tour tournaments in 2022, when the Dutchman won the German Darts Championship, the Austrian Darts Open and the European Darts Open. In 2023, Van Gerwen won only one title at the Belgian Darts Open and one year later he won the Hungarian Darts Trophy. Earlier this year, as mentioned earlier, he thus won the German Darts Grand Prix.

Both Humphries and Van Gerwen are still running at the top of the PDC, so it certainly cannot be ruled out that both men will manage to win another Euro Tour tournament next year as well to expand this statistic a bit more either this year or in the years to come.
