25 reasons we love Adele

"The Late Late Show with James Corden" has become synonymous with Carpool Karaoke, which Corden created alongside his executive producer Ben Winston. All of Corden's Carpool Karaoke installments are extremely popular, none more popular than Adele's, which was the most viral video of 2016 and broke a YouTube record. Adele's Carpool Karaoke appeared on Jan. 13, 2016, and has since accumulated over 145 million views.

In December 2015, Adele immediately sold out six shows scheduled for August 2016. Two more shows were added, and those sold out as well. Adele managed to sell out eight shows in Los Angeles. That is massive and record-breaking for the venue, which was the Staples Center.

Adele's lyrics are not explicit, but Adele in real life is. Look up any Adele interview, any clip of her speaking between songs at a show, and there will be a curse word or two. She makes curse words personable and funny, earnest even, instead of off-putting. The power of Adele.

Each Adele album has been titled after the age she was when she was making it: "19," "23" and "25." While that trend is apparently coming to an end based on what Adele told Zane Lowe in October 2015, it has become symbolic for her.

Shortly after the 58th Annual Grammy Awards in February 2016, Adele appeared on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show." She addressed her subpar performance at the Grammy Awards. "I'm always a bit pitchy anyway," she told Ellen. "I am. It's emotion."

During Adele's Carpool Karaoke appearance with James Corden in January 2016, she rapped word for word the Spice Girls' "Wannabe." Adele has been on the record as an enormous Spice Girls fan and wants everybody to know that it isn't just for show. She told Corden, "It was a huge moment in my life when they came out." She also performed "Spice Up Your Life" at one of her own shows in June. The Spice Girls loved it.

Adele's Vanity Fair cover story begins with a quote from Beyonce: "When Adele sings you can hear that it’s coming from an unfiltered honesty and purity. She creates songs that go deep and expose pain and vulnerability with her soulful voice. She takes you places other artists don’t go to anymore — the way they did in the ‘70s."

More importantly, further along in the story we discover that Adele has loved Beyonce since she was 11 years old. Only now, Beyonce returns the favor and told the magazine: “It is so easy to talk to her and be around her. She’s funny as hell and her comebacks are legendary. The most beautiful thing about Adele is that she has her priorities straight. She is a gracious woman and the most humble human being I’ve ever met.”

Even though Adele is friends with Queen B, she still adores her as if she is still 11 years old.

Adele is a really cool mom. Her son, Angelo, is 4 years old. She has his name tattooed on the side of her palm. After she completed her "25" tour consisting of 107 shows in 10 months, Angelo made his mum a banner. But it hasn't always been lovely for Adele as a mother. She admitted to Vanity Fair that she suffered from postpartum depression.

Adele has always been a meme and spoof subject, but after her smash single "Hello" was introduced to the world in 2015, people took it to a whole new level. For example, a Tennessee teacher made a spoof that went viral asking for a snow day. "Hello" peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Anybody who has ever forced himself or herself to go to the gym does not need this photo to be further explained. It's always refreshing to see that one of the world's most glamorous humans is still in touch with the daily human struggle.

Adele is open about her struggle with body image, and the way she addresses the issue is equal parts empowering and honest. Teen Vogue compiled a list of seven times Adele shut down body shamers.

When Adele appeared on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" in February 2016, Ellen asked her for a favor. "I thought it would be really cool if you would record my outgoing message for my phone," Ellen told Adele. Adele being Adele, she gave Ellen the best outgoing message in the world.

Adele has not conformed because of her worldwide success, and we are all reminded of authenticity every time she speaks with her thick British accent. It's bloody cool. Adele was born in Tottenham, London.

Earlier this month, Mark Wahlberg said on "The Late Late Show with James Corden" that his wife is embarrassed of him for listening to Adele's "25" album all the time. He listens to it when he travels. “I know this is weird and people always give me crap about it,” Wahlberg said. “I’m not a good flyer, so I’ve been listening to Adele’s album now for as long as it’s been out.”

Adele has said that she first met James Corden in Wales what would now be about eight years ago. More recently, Adele was seen out to dinner with her maybe husband but definite partner Simon Konecki, Corden and his wife.

There are essays written about Adele's voice and trying to figure out how such a sound can come from a human body.

Adele's laugh is infectious and extremely distinct. It is known as the "Adele Cackle."

There are a number of examples worthy of using to prove Adele is extremely funny. But yet another segment from "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" comes to mind. Playing "5 Second Rule" with Ellen, Adele is asked to name three nicknames for her “lady parts." She answers with no hesitation, and the audience abruptly cracks up.

Forbes reported that Adele had the best-selling album in the U.S. for 2016 having sold 1,731,000 actual, hard copy CDs. Adele's "25" reached certified diamond status in late September 2016, which means that the album surpassed 10 million copies in the United States.

Adele told Vanity Fair that she wants to star on Broadway when she's "like 50." Specifically, she has her eye on portraying Mama Rose in the play "Gypsy." Sure, Adele. Why not.

Quite simply, Adele told Vanity Fair as part of her cover story  that WiFi is going to "kill our insides. ... I'm telling you, we'll find out in 25 years."

Adele's Vanity Fair cover shoot and accompanying story provided so many gems but maybe none more endearing than this quote: "I swear to god I laugh at every big thing that happens in my career. I laugh out loud because I think it’s f-----ridiculous."

Believe it, Adele. You're as awesome as everybody says.

At Adele's show on Oct. 16 in Nashville, she pulled a fan on stage with her. That fan was a woman holding a sign that said, "It's my 40th Anniversary and I'm here alone. Only 1 ticket!" Adele posted an image of the two on her Instagram account. That's dedication and a true artist-fan relationship.
