Fan's of '90s Britpop already were enjoying the fact that Oasis is touring in 2025, but there's more good news out there for fans of that type of music.
First, Damon Albarn, erstwhile (and maybe future) Blur frontman announced that he's putting the finishing touches on the next Gorillaz album. Gorillaz is, of course, the odd, animated "band" creatively driven by Albarn and illustrator Jamie Hewlett. Though, Gorillaz aren't Britpop, Albarn is beloved by fans of that era. Also, he just had an opera debut in Paris. Busy dude!
Meanwhile, Jarvis Cocker and Pulp will be part of a large Los Angeles event this September. Dance-punk superstars LCD Soundsystem are doing a residency in London this June, but after they return, they won't be throwing off the shackles of Britain just yet. Pulp will be joining LCD Soundsystem for shows at the famed Hollywood Bowl on September 25 and 26. There are also rumors of a new Pulp album brewing for good measure.
Now, if only Elastica would reunite, Britpop would really be having a Renaissance.
