Madame Web’s most notorious line doesn’t make the final cut of the film.

An early trailer featured the line, “He was in the Amazon with my mom when she was researching spiders right before she died.”

The clunky dialogue went viral, and became the subject of a wave of memes.

In one interview, Madame Web star Dakota Johnson was even asked if she’d seen the memes, which prompted a somewhat awkward response.

Don’t expect to hear the line in the film, however. It’s been butchered, possibly as a reaction to the criticism.

Only a portion of it remains: “She was researching spiders.”

That solves everything. Madame Web was mocked on Saturday Night Live, but now it’s impossible to make fun of.
