What was the best 'get hyped' music of 2016?

Sports and music, can’t get pumped up for one without the other. 2016 the dominance of Beyonce at the Super Bowl, the Penguins win the Stanley Cup while rocking out to Andrew W.K.'s "Party Hard" and yes, Drake was a fan of more than a few teams.

Hello and welcome back to the Yardbarker roundtable where we ask our contributors to discuss the serious (and not so serious) sides of sports. We been talking about favorites this week; bandwagons, moments, sports films. We can't forget the beat that keeps it all going though, so we a few of our contributors:

What was the best “get hyped” album of 2016?

Daniel Tran: Say what you will about Desiigner's lyrical prowess or content, but that dude makes a heck of pump up song. Yes, "New English" has the same basic driving bass beat, but no other album has me feeling like I can bench press 405 pounds when I blast it on my headphones. There was a report that someone in Los Angeles listened to album hit song "Panda" 4,454 times in 2016. I am neither confirming nor denying that it was me.

Chelena Goldman: Whoever did the pregame music for the Sharks during the Stanley Cup Playoffs last year – the song they started using with the cartoon black cat on the cube. I think I Shazam'd the tune at some point, but I can't remember the name of the song or artist. I just remember covering every home game all the way up through the Final and the opening track really brought the house down. The crowd would be ridiculously loud.

Alex Wong: Please don't tell anyone I don't really invest a lot of time into new music and prefer to be stuck in the '90s with my Spotify playlists, but if I had to pick an album to get hyped to that isn't a Young Jeezy album from the mid-2000s and has to be from 2016, I'll go with Chance's "Coloring Book" and specifically "No Problem," which features a wildly surprising fire verse from Lil' Wayne and a very underrated cameo from 2 Chainz. In a year of not too many bright spots in the world, Chance's mixtape was the ray of sunshine that we needed.

Demetrius Bell: I have no idea how Rae Sremmurd managed to make a song that is perfect to stand completely still to, but they did it with "Black Beatles." The rest of the album is pretty good as well.

Jamie Neal: I can't think of anything in 2016 that gets my hyped like my growing "Pump Up Playlist" that has songs like "ATLiens" by Outkast, "Ghetto Superstar" by Pras, and "Make 'Em Say Ugh" by Master P on it. Call me old school or make fun of me for listening to dated music, but today's rap and hip hop just doesn't hit like Dr. Dre's "2001."
