Nickelodeon is officially expanding The Thundermans universe with a brand-new movie, Clash of the Thundermans, set to premiere in 2026 on both Nickelodeon and Paramount+. The greenlight follows the franchise’s continued success, including the 2023 movie The Thundermans Return and the upcoming spinoff series The Thundermans: Undercover.
Modern Family star Ariel Winter joins the cast in a major new role as Cognita, a powerful and mysterious addition to the Thundermans universe. Winter, known for her acclaimed turn as Alex Dunphy and voice work in Sofia the First, will share the screen with returning fan favorites:
Kira Kosarin as Phoebe Thunderman
Jack Griffo as Max Thunderman
Maya Le Clark as Chloe Thunderman
Addison Riecke as Nora Thunderman
Diego Velasquez as Billy Thunderman
Chris Tallman as Hank Thunderman
Rosa Blasi as Barb Thunderman
Clash of the Thundermans picks up after The Thundermans Return, diving into high-stakes drama when Chloe develops a dangerously destructive new superpower. The Hero League sends her to an elite superhero boarding school to gain control, but the move divides the family.
Phoebe, Barb, and Billy take Chloe into hiding to protect her, while Max, Hank, and Nora are tasked with bringing them back—setting the stage for an emotional and action-packed family battle that could change everything.
The original Thundermans series (2013–2018) gained cult status among young viewers. Its successful revival with The Thundermans Return became a ratings win for Nickelodeon, sparking renewed interest in the franchise and leading to the development of The Thundermans: Undercover and now Clash of the Thundermans.
Production began on July 31, 2025, in Vancouver, Canada. Clash of the Thundermans is slated for a 2026 release, with a simultaneous debut on Nickelodeon and Paramount+, ensuring wide accessibility for global fans.
Ariel Winter’s debut as Cognita marks a thrilling new chapter in the Thundermans saga, one that promises explosive action, heartfelt family drama, and a supercharged storyline when it hits screens in 2026.
