Backstreet Boys lock-in Las Vegas' Sphere residency this summer

We'll start with the most-exciting topic one can engage with, and that's basic grammar. The famed boy band of yesteryear (and today) is called Backstreet Boys, and sometimes the Backstreet Boys, but they are not The Backstreet Boys. Additionally, the round, psychedelic venue in Las Vegas is called Sphere, not The Sphere. So, all that said, Backstreet Boys have a residency at Sphere this summer!

Backstreet Boys were at the forefront of the boy band era, with their success peaking with 1999's album "Millennium." Like many artists of that vintage, the Boys have done their fair share of nostalgia events, some nautical, some terrestrial. Residencies in Vegas are also common for such musicians, with Britney Spears an obvious comparison point. The introduction of Sphere to the venue options, though, has opened the door for some innovative performances for some well-worn songs.

After some social media teasery, Backstreet Boys dropped the news about their residency at Sphere. The show is titled "Into the Millennium" and will focus on the aforementioned "Millennium" album. One might note that they are a year late on the 25th anniversary of said album, but that's a quibble the Backstreet Boys lovers out there probably don't want to hear.

The residency is taking place this July, with shows on July 11-13, 18-20, and 25-27. Tickets go on sale to the general public on February 21, so plug that date into your calendar alerts, Elder Millennial women who like to drink and gamble. This is your summer.
