Steve Irwin was an Australian zookeeper who rose to international fame through his and Terri's The Crocodile Hunter wildlife documentary series that began in 1996 and continued until his death. The 44-year-old died on Sept. 4, 2006, when a stingray stabbed him with its tail. The attack pierced Irwin's heart. The lone witness shared his story in March 2014:
Bindi and Robert have carried on her Steve's legacy as wildlife conservationists at the Australia Zoo.
