BTS feel positively about Grammys despite losing out on award

BTS lost to Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga's "Rain On Me" for best pop duo/group performance at Sunday's 63rd Grammy Awards, but—sorry for this—the loss didn't rain on the K-pop group's parade.

"I saw a lot of articles saying we 'failed' to get the award, but I don't think it's a fail since we were able to perform for the first time as nominees," RM told VLive (h/t ABC News Radio). "I don't think it's a failure, but let's look at the positive side: we were nominated for the first time and did our first solo performance."

BTS—comprised of RM, J-Hope, Jimin, Jin, Jungkook, Suga and V—was nominated for "Dynamite," which they performed from Korea:

This was BTS' first Grammy nomination, making them the first K-pop group to be recognized by the Recording Academy, though they have previously appeared on the award show's stage as presenters and supporting performers for Lil Nas X's "Old Town Road" last year:

"Dynamite" was BTS' first English-language release. The track was included on their 2020 studio album Be, joining a lengthy discography.
