Classic Star Wars Film Returns to Theatres

Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace is heading back to the big screen.

To celebrate the movie’s 25th anniversary, audiences can see it in theaters for a limited time starting May 3rd, 2024.

George Lucas’ 1999 sci-fi epic, which kicked off a prequel trilogy to 1977’s original Star Wars, proved divisive at the time. Now, however, more people are looking at them fondly.

Whether you want to relive the feeling of seeing it back in the ‘90s, or you’re catching it for the first time in a theater, The Phantom Menace re-release is a perfect opportunity.

It’s the first Star Wars film to release in theaters since 2019's The Rise of Skywalker, and it’ll be the last until 2026, since Lucasfilm announced a Mandalorian movie starring Grogu.
