Donnie Wahlberg reveals Bridget Moynahan will be appearing on and directing episodes of 'Boston Blue'

Donnie Wahlberg has just made Blue Bloods fans very happy by announcing that Danny and Erin Reagan will be reuniting on Boston Blue. That's right, Bridget Moynahan will be making a guest appearance in the premiere episode, which will debut on October 17.

"Reunited and [it] feels so good! So excited to have my dear friend, and TV sister Bridget Moynahan, join me for a special guest appearance in the premiere episode of #BostonBlue," the actor wrote. "She’ll also be bringing her incredible directing talents to the show this season! More fun (and surprises) to come."

Their Blue Bloods co-stars Vanessa Ray and Sami Gayle commented some love for the duo, and hopefully, this is only the first of many on-screen reunions.

This does come after the news that Andrew Terraciano, who portrayed Danny's youngest son, Sean, has been recast with Mika Amonsen taking over the role as a series regular. According to PEOPLE, "Amonsen's version of the character will see Sean as a patrolman for the Boston police department, where he will be committed to following in his family's legacy but on his own terms."

The rest of the cast includes Sonequa Martin-Green, Ernie Hudson, Maggie Lawson, Marcus Scribner, and Gloria Reuben.

In BOSTON BLUE, a universe expansion of the long-running top drama BLUE BLOODS, Wahlberg will reprise his role as NYPD officer Danny Reagan as he takes a position with Boston PD. Once in Boston, he is paired with detective Lena Peters, the eldest daughter of a prominent law enforcement family.

Wahlberg is also an executive producer alongside Jerry Bruckheimer, KristieAnne Reed, and showrunners Brandon Sonnier and Brandon Margolis.

Boston Blue will air Fridays at 10:00 - 11:00 PM on CBS. All episodes of Blue Bloods are streaming on Paramount+.
