‘Jeopardy!’ Star Juveria Zaheer Reacts to Brother Omar Not Getting Chosen for ‘Survivor’ 50
Sony/CBS

Amid Juveria Zaheer‘s run on Jeopardy! Masters, the cast list for Season 50 of Survivor was officially released, featuring contestants who have all played the game before. That meant there was an opportunity for Juveria’s brother, Omar Zaheer, to return to the beach in Fiji for another shot at $1 million.

Although fans were hoping Omar would get selected in the casting process, he was ultimately not chosen as one of the 24 castaways for Season 50, and Juveria reacted to the news on X. “Would have loved to have seen the little bro cause chaos on the beach again!” she wrote.

Omar last played Survivor during Season 42 in 2022. He finished the game in sixth place and became a fan-favorite contestant. At final tribal council, he casted one of the seven votes for winner Maryanne Oketch, who beat Mike Turner and Romeo Escobar in a 7-1-0 vote (Turner received one vote from Jonathan Young, who is the only Season 42 representative on Season 50).

With so many prior seasons to choose from, the casting process was likely tough for CBS, and fans and former players alike were left disappointed by some of the choices. Several players took to social media to express frustration over being dragged along in the casting process, just to get cut at the last minute.

Survivor 50 is the first all-returning players season since Season 40, which brought back 20 former winners to compete against each other. Before that, Season 38 had four returning contestants mixed into the cast, and prior to that, Season 34 was an all-returning cast of “game changers.”

Meanwhile, Juveria has found her own television success on Jeopardy! She lost her first game in 2023, but was invited back for that year’s Second Chance tournament. Her win solidified her a spot in the Champions Wildcard tournament for a shot to make the Tournament of Champions, which she did, but she was eliminated in the Quarterfinal round.

Now, Juveria is one of the four Semifinalists on Jeopardy! Masters, but she’s currently tied with Isaac Hirsch at the bottom of the leaderboard with zero points, behind Victoria Groce (six points) and Yogesh Raut (two points). The competition continues with more Semifinal matches on June 3.

Quinn Ewers’ Camp Performance Forces Dolphins Into Tough QB Decision

Being the backup quarterback isn't necessarily the most exciting role for anyone, but for a team like the Miami Dolphins, where starter Tua Tagovailoa has suffered four concussions since entering the NFL in 2020, it could be vital. As of now, a clear battle for that spot has formed between rookie seventh-round pick Quinn Ewers and veteran former first-round selection Zach Wilson as they go head-to-head. Of course, training camp is where these kinds of questions can be solved, and so far, it appears that Ewers has done a good job in putting his best foot forward. On Friday, David Furones of the Sun Sentinel gave a very positive update on the young quarterback, stating, "Dolphins rookie QB Quinn Ewers had a strong third practice of training camp. Made several impressive, big-time throws." The update sparked conversations among many fans, both supporting Ewers and a serious showing that there's interest in seeing who comes out on top. "Show ‘em, Quinn," said one comment. "He just does a lot of things (anticipatory throws, timing throws, MOTF accuracy, etc.) that fit this system much better than what Wilson does. I think with refinement and development we could have a backup in Miami that can operate the offense efficiently…finally," said another. "Love to hear it!" a third added. A fourth stated, "I'd be surprised if he's not the backup.." "I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Quinn Ewers has the physical tools to stick at the next level. It’s just a matter of shaping the rest," a fifth continued. "That’s QB2 potential QB1 in the future Glad we drafted Ewers," said another. Another big test for both Ewers and Wilson will be during the Dolphins' three preseason games, as the coaching staff will get a much better look at how these two perform during live matchups. Luckily for both, though, being the backup is all they're truly fighting for, as Kyle Crabbs of A to Z Sports predicts that each will make the final 53-man roster, with cuts needing to be made by Aug. 27.

Deal Close: Saudi arrive with shock offer to help Chelsea sell player they were set to make a loss on

Saudi have arrived to help Chelsea with a shock offer to sell a player they were dead set to make a loss on at one point. Plenty of things have gone on this week involving Chelsea in the transfer market as they’ve looked to get deals going. It was only earlier in the day yesterday when we were hearing that a deal for Joao Felix to join Benfica on a permanent transfer was close and likely, but Chelsea were only set to make about half of what they paid to sign him, which would not have been great at all. Even Fabrizio Romano has been speaking on updated news on Felix to Benfica this weekend, but it doesn’t look like he is heading there at all now and Chelsea are about to get a very decent fee for him. Felix to Saudi! It looks like Saudi are coming to rescue Chelsea again with the Blues having sold a lot of their players to clubs over there in recent seasons, as have many other clubs too mind. Fabrizio Romano put out on his X account late last night: “Al Nassr are in advanced talks to sign João Félix and hijack Benfica’s move! “Understand Al Nassr have sent permanent deal proposal to Chelsea and contract proposal to João. “The agreement is close as final details are set to be discussed in the next 24/48h.” Chelsea will be applauded Journalist Ben Jacobs is reporting that Chelsea are set to receive over £40m for Felix, which is around what they paid to sign him. If this goes through then Chelsea must be applauded for managing to get this fee back for Felix after a poor loan last season and him not being in good form at all in recent years!

Mariners' Cal Raleigh makes history with 40th home run

Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh clubbed his 40th home run of the season on Saturday night against the Los Angeles Angels, not only extending his major league lead but also making him the first player in baseball to reach the 40-home run mark this season. It also helped him make some history. With his 40th home run, Raleigh became both the first catcher and the first switch-hitter in baseball history to reach the 40 home run mark before the end of July. Here is a look at his 40th home run. He is already in the process of having one of the best seasons ever for a Mariners player, and also one of the best seasons ever for a catcher, for any team. Especially when you add in his defense, where he is one of the best defensive catchers in the league. His only serious competition for the American League MVP Award remains New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge. But with Judge sidelined for a period of time now due to an elbow injury, it might open the door for Raleigh to really put himself in the lead for that award.

Fans Troll Gabe Vincent For Surprising New Look In Training Camp Announcement Video

Los Angeles Lakers guard Gabe Vincent is looking to have an exciting offseason, as he recently announced his upcoming skills clinic in Santa Barbara. As an alumnus of UCSB, Vincent seemed particularly enthusiastic about the upcoming training camp. Unfortunately, fans were more interested in the guard's new look. Vincent has typically been known to have a beard, giving him a very distinct appearance. In the training camp announcement video, however, the guard displayed a clean-shaven look, prompting surprised reactions from fans on social media. While Vincent's motives to give back to the community were noble, fans ruthlessly trolled him for shaving his beard. With several sharing their reactions on X, we take a look at a few of the best ones. "Ewww wtf grow the beard back and gtf off the team," said one fan. "Just get off the team. I don't care what's on his face," responded another. "Put it back," demanded another. "Bro looking like he bout to drop the hardest neo soul album of all time," one fan claimed. Another fan built upon this and added, "I thought this was xxxtentacion." "We gotta trade him now lmao ain’t no way he finna be cookin w no facial hair," said one fan. "Jumpscare," acknowledged another. One fan hilariously compared the look to actors in movies and said, "That's how 35-year-old actors look when they play high schoolers." "I ain’t never seen Kyle and Gabe Vincent in the same room together (Just Saying)," claimed one fan, pointing out the similarity in appearance. One fan acknowledged the reality of the situation and pointed out the reason behind it, and said, "He had to cut it off. It was obvious why. Y'all are just too immature to ask. Fans remember that stress patch, which is a condition. Causes are from high anxiety and stress." Some of the comments made by the fans were hilarious, while others were rather cruel. Considering the consistent theme of demanding a trade, Vincent finds himself in a particularly tough spot with the Lakers' fan base. The 29-year-old guard is on an expiring contract, making him one of several valuable assets the Purple and Gold hold this season. While the team's tradeable draft assets are limited, their wealth of expiring contracts gives them some power. In this regard, players like Vincent have been viewed as trade chips. Although the Lakers' offseason moves have primarily involved signing free agents, rumblings are suggesting that a trade may be on the cards. Several targets have been presented, but given the team’s current needs, only a few targets seem truly viable. There is no guarantee that the Lakers will be parting ways with Vincent this offseason, though. While the guard hasn’t made a major impact, he’s shown flashes of value off the bench, having averaged 6.4 points and 1.4 assists per game, while shooting 40% from the field and 35.3% from three-point range last season. As a solid three-and-D player, he still shows some upside. While there’s still potential for him to contribute as a rotation player, the Lakers will be evaluating their options.
