Kanye West legally changes name to Ye

Ye is no longer just an album title from 2018.

The artist formerly known as Kanye West, 44, has officially changed his legal name to Ye—nothing more, nothing less—per Deadline on Monday.

"Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michelle Williams Court gave her nod to the request by the singer, who filed his petition Aug. 24 and stated he was making the change for personal reasons," the outlet relayed.

Donda, his 10th studio album named after his late mother, finally arrived Aug. 29 after a prolonged rollout.

Prior to that, Ye was spotted supporting Kim Kardashian West in New York City around her Oct. 9 Saturday Night Live hosting gig. Kardashian West filed for divorce in February. The two share daughters North, 8, and Chicago, 3, as well as sons Saint, 5, and Psalm, 2.
