The return of the king is upon us. No, we don’t mean The Lord of the Rings’ king of men, Aragorn. We’re talking about THE King, the king of the hill that is. Yes, Hank Hill is back in all his earnest, ornery glory, and this time, he’s taking on the scariest of perils yet. Perils that Aragorn could only dream of defeating. Yes, in the King of the Hill revival series, also known as King of the Hill season 14, Hank Hill is taking on… the modern day. And that includes (among other things) vegans, fruity beer, all gender bathrooms, and the true horror, soccer. You can check out the full King of the Hill revival trailer below.
We’re glad to see that the King of the Hill revival is right back to its usual antics in the full trailer for season 14. All the usual suspects are in place once again, including Hank Hill, Peggy Hill, their son Bobby, and Hank’s motley crew of pals: Dale, Boomhauer and Bill. Hank and Peggy have been away from their beloved Texas for a while in King of the Hill season 14, but this revival is plunging them back into everything the modern United States has to offer. Will Hank Hill be able to adjust to the times in this King of the Hill revival? We know he will in his own way.
The truth is that, in its funny, often outrageous way, King of the Hill has always been a forward-thinking show, tackling contentious topics in a way that can reach a wide range of audiences. We can see from this trailer that in season 14, the King of the Hill revival will continue this legacy. And honestly, it’s more needed than ever.
Alongside the revival trailer, King of the Hill has shared a synopsis for its season 14, which notes, “After years working a propane job in Saudi Arabia to earn their retirement nest egg, Hank and Peggy Hill return to a changed Arlen, Texas to reconnect with old friends Dale, Boomhauer and Bill. Meanwhile, Bobby is living his dream as a chef in Dallas and enjoying his 20s with his former classmates Connie, Joseph and Chane.”
The cast of the series includes, Mike Judge, Kathy Najimy, Pamela Adlon, Johnny Hardwick, Stephen Root, Lauren Tom, and Toby Huss, and the newly announced Ronny Chieng.
The King of the Hill revival season releases on Monday, August 4, with all 10 of its episodes. In the meantime, you can stream the original show on Hulu.
