Madelaine Petsch is reflecting on her Riverdale experience to mark the two-year anniversary of the series finale. The actress played fan-favorite Cheryl Blossom on all seven seasons of the drama, which was based on the Archie Comics and ran from 2017 to 2023 on The CW.
"The final episode of Riverdale aired two years ago today," she wrote in a trio of Instagram Stories made up of photos and a video. "I don't think it's possible to have more fun on a job than we had [on] Riverdale. Forever grateful for this bizarre little show & my bizarre little family."
That "bizarre little family" also included Vanessa Morgan, Camila Mendes, KJ Apa, Lili Reinhart, Cole Sprouse, Casey Cott, Charles Melton, Mädchen Amick, Skeet Ulrich, Marisol Nichols, Mark Consuelos, Drew Ray Tanner, and many more over the years, including the late Luke Perry, who passed away in 2019.
"As an actor on the show, wrapping was, maybe, one of the hardest weeks of my life. The people that I work with — the cast and the crew — are truly some of the most phenomenal people on this planet. I feel very lucky to have spent seven years with them. We pretty much had the same crew for seven years, so I think the hardest goodbye was saying goodbye to our crew," she previously told Us Weekly.
She continued to say, "I know it was time to put the red lipstick away and say goodbye to Cheryl. So, I’m excited to say goodbye to Cheryl [and] I think her story has been completed really well."
Petsch will next be seen starring in The Strangers – Chapter 2. You can currently watch all episodes of Riverdale on Netflix.
