Alongside the Red Hulk’s debut, fans are also being treated to the return of another iconic antagonist: The Leader. Played by Tim Blake Nelson, this villain was last seen in 2008’s ‘The Incredible Hulk’. Now, over a decade later, Nelson is stepping back into the role of Samuel Sterns, fully transformed into his comic-accurate, green-skinned, large-foreheaded alter ego.
Nelson expressed his excitement about rejoining the MCU in a recent interview, sharing, “It’s been incredible to revisit this character and explore his evolution. The Leader has been waiting in the shadows, and now he’s ready to make his move.” Moreover, promotional material for the film teases a possible connection between Sterns and Thaddeus Ross.
Fans speculate that Sterns might be the mastermind behind Ross’s transformation into the Red Hulk. The dynamic between these two villains is sure to add a lot of depth to the film. Additionally, their combined presence will undoubtedly test Sam Wilson’s limits as he steps further into his role as Captain America.
