After nearly being chainsawed to death in Episode 7 of MobLand, you'd think that Seraphina Harrigan, daughter of crime lord Conrad Harrigan, might be ready for an entirely different kind of life. But, as the following episodes of MobLand have proven, Seraphina has been slightly underestimated this season, and could, if there's a Season 2, end up as a bigger powerbroker in the mob family. Spoilers ahead for MobLand Episode 9, "Beggars Banquet."
"I think that experience has changed her," actress Mandeep Dhillon tells Men's Journal of Seraphina's journey so far. "She's so driven by power and money and success that almost getting chainsawed makes her level up a little bit. She's take no prisoners now."
In the ending of Episode 9, "Beggars Banquet," the leaders of the Harrigan family, Maeve (Helen Mirren) and Conrad Harrigan (Pierce Brosnan), have been arrested. Does this leave a power vacuum? Does Seraphina see herself taking over the whole operation? Would Harry (Tom Hardy) oppose her or support her?
"It's hard for me to say without revealing too much," Dhillon says. "I mean, look, I think Seraphina would want to take over, and I think in her future, in her mind, she would genuinely have the family's best interests at heart."
Who truly wields the power in MobLand is one of the main focuses of the series, and as Season 1 heads towards an explosive finale with Episode 10 on Sunday, June 1, there's a very real chance that not every single storyline will be totally wrapped up.
"For a [hypothetical] Season 2, I'd definitely see her up there, with more power," Dhillon says. "But she will never be the same as before. I'd really like to see her get more into the crime side of things. That would be great to play. But let's see. [Writer] Jez Butterworth is amazing, so I'm sure whatever happens with the storylines will be really cool."
