Pedro Pascal in talks to star in Tony Gilroy's next movie 'Behemoth!'

Two of the busiest men in Hollywood are set to link up on a new project.

Director Tony Gilroy has been super busy with the acclaimed 'Andor' series, so much so he hasn't written a movie since 2018's 'Beirut,' and hasn't directed a movie since 2012's 'The Bourne Legacy'. While Gilroy has been working for one Disney franchise, Pedro Pascal was just seen in another Disney franchise, starring in "The Fantastic Four: First Steps." Mercifully, Pascal hasn't been fully subsumed by the MCU, and according to reports he is likely to star in Gilroy's next movie.

The movie is a Searchlight Pictures affair, one of Disney's wings for prestige plays (it was Fox's repository for such films until Disney bought 20th Century Fox), and it is called "Behemoth!." While plot details are scarce, Gilroy has said the movie is about a cellist, and one assumes Pascal would be playing said cellist. That sounds far afield from the genre worlds of "Andor" or the Bourne franchise. Maybe we can get some of that "Michael Clayton" magic with this movie.

Pascal can do genre fare well himself, but he's no slouch as an actor, so it would be nice to see him continue to get opportunities such as this. The reports say he's enthused about "Behemoth!," so soon enough the odds are good he is signed on to star.
