Wolves aren’t afraid of much. But apparently, a screaming match between Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson? Terrifying.
In an effort to protect cattle herds from wolf attacks, the United States Department of Agriculture has tried the usual stuff: fireworks, gunshots, loud drones, a little AC/DC. But now, according to officials in Oregon, they’ve added something new to the toolkit — scenes from 'Marriage Story.'
Yes, 'Marriage Story', the 2019 Noah Baumbach film about a couple’s painful divorce. Specifically, the USDA is blasting the film’s now-iconic argument scene, where Driver and Johansson unleash a full-throated emotional cage match. It earned them both Oscar nods. It’s also apparently enough to make wolves think twice about hanging around.
A USDA field supervisor said it best: “I need the wolves to respond and know that, hey, humans are bad.” Nothing says “bad” quite like a raw, theatrical breakup.
In the end, Marriage Story might be doing more than just breaking hearts — it could be saving cows. Now that's Hollywood range.
